This morning (Saturday), I tried out this place called @MyHome for breakfast. It’s one of those places that you feel like you’ve always known and you immediately feel comfortable as you walk in.
To start off with, the service was terrible. After sitting at the table for a while and no one coming to take my order, I eventually had to get up and make our own! When the barista ( who seems to go by the name ‘The Husband’) eventually came out to take our order ( seems like he had just woken up) it was worth the wait as the coffees were really good. He’s also quite cute so the eye candy was an extra bonus. The ambience is pretty good although it’s quite noisy with 2 little kids running around, singing and dancing but they’re quite cute and sweet so it didn’t bother me too much. (this time)
The tables were an absolute mess! You’d think they would’ve at least cleared them before allowing us to sit down. Not the most hygienic either with a dog hovering around under your feet, not sure if that’s allowed in a place where food is served!?
The service was slightly better towards the end of the meal as the barista cleared our plates and washed up. (It seems like he might play a bigger role than just serving coffees but I can’t say for sure.)
The dress code is pretty casual. In fact, eating here in your PJ’s is quite the norm.
I thought about tipping the barista but decided against it as it just didn’t feel like that kind of a place.
Although the menu was quite limited, the food was good ( if I do say so myself) but next time will request someone else to make it instead of me having to do it and will definitely be taking this up with management.
All in all though, we had a great time and this is a great breakfast spot! So great in fact, I might just eat here every morning! 😉
