April is the first month of Autumn and one can already feel the change in the air as the weather gets cooler and the days get shorter. Personally, this is one of my favourite months of the year as it is just that perfect balance between not being too hot or too cold. But there’s still some time to go until the rainy season hits (with our current droughts in Cape Town, let’s hope it’s sooner rather than later!) meaning you should make the most out of this period and schedule as many dates as possible. That said, there will be many opportunities to cuddle up and stay in during the months to come! Until then, here are some fun ideas and activities to enjoy with your other half.
Create your own marriage
Is your marriage the way you envisioned it? Is it the way you want it to be? My husband and I just recently had a night together where we started to discuss ‘recreating’ the kind of marriage we want. When you’ve been together for a while, you tend to fall into patterns and roles without even realising it. If you’re happy with that, that’s great. But just remember, that there is no one formula of marriage that works for everyone. You can choose what kind of marriage you want. Take the night and discuss what it is you expect from each other, want from each other, need from each other. Create the kind of marriage that YOU want, and not what is expected from society or anyone else.
Square Cafe & Wine Bar
Every Friday at Century City’s Square Cafe & Wine Bar is sushi and bubbly night. This means that you can pay R180 for two glasses of bubbly and a 12 piece sushi platter to share. On Mondays they run a great 2-for-1 burger special which costs R95 and looks delicious.
Although I never got to sample the food myself, our guest writer, Gente, recently reviewed The Stack (read the review here) and it seems like a great place to go for date night. From the food and cocktail selection to the friendly service and picturesque setting, it’s definitely worth a try.
