Oh my! It’s nearly August! When on earth did that happen!? While August is meant to really be our month of winter here in Cape Town, it also happens to be a very busy month with lots of things happening and all of them looking appealing for a date night out. Looks like you might need to get off that couch this month for date night and take advantage of all the specials that are currently running. Go on…just do it!
Burn your fears. Say what!? Hear me out here…my husband and I did this last week for our date night at home and it was very powerful and helped us to feel more connected. As we are going through some struggles at the moment in our lives, I realised that we were on the edge of going two ways in dealing with things…feeling resentful and letting our issues push us apart or coming together and tackling our struggles together. We chose the latter. So we lit a candle, got paper and pen and each took a moment to write down our fears and doubts with regard to ourselves and what is currently going on for us. We then read it out loud to each other and burned them in the fire. After that, we wrote down what we appreciate and what we welcome into our lives. We then read that to each other and decided to individually read what we wrote every morning as an affirmation. The shift between us was huge as we realised that no matter what happens, if we are strong together, we’ll be ok. For my full blog post on this click here.
