It seems I’m into Sam Smith at the moment. I know I featured a song of his last week (I’m Not The Only One), and I thought of doing something else for this week but then thought, I’ll just go with him while I seem to be on a roll.
I actually first heard this song at the end (you know, the cooling down part) of one of my gym classes and immediately loved it. It is so soulful and listening to it now again, it can bring me to tears instantly.
I did a little research into Sam Smith and the one thing that struck me the most was something he said in an interview. ( FYI he is gay and I think it is so great that the video portrays that. I’m not sure how many music videos out there are doing that?)
“Before I made this record [In The Lonely Hour] I was doing everything to try and get my music heard,” Smith said during one of his four acceptance speeches. “It was only until I started to be myself that the music started to flow and people started to listen.”
I love that! I think in every area of our lives, no matter what it is, when we are being true to ourselves, life flows for us.
If you haven’t heard it before, listen to it. It is such a beautiful song!
