One of the best things I have loved since starting my blog and finding out what’s happening out there for Date Nights, is realising that there is so much going on in Cape Town ALL THE TIME! May is no exception. Do yourselves a favour…don’t go to the same old restaurant you always go to…get out of your date night rut and do something different. Enjoy! And don’t forget to do something extra special for that amazing woman in your life for Mother’s Day. Something that says you appreciate her, love her, respect her will go down really well and it doesn’t have to be expensive, just thoughtful!
Stare into each other’s eyes…
I know it sounds very new agey and all but really, when do we actually take a moment to really look into our partner’s eyes? Sit on the floor comfortably so that you’re facing one another. If you want, you can give yourselves a certain amount of time or just start and see what happens. Remember, the eyes are the windows to our souls.
Murder Mystery Dining Party (27 May)
Wanting to do something completely different and slightly out of your comfort zone? (well, it would be for me anyway) This looks like loads of fun! Please let me know in the comments below if you go/have been before. I’d love to know! Click here for more info.
Curry and Comedy @The Radisson Blue Hotel (26 May)
Is there a better combination to get one warmed up on a cold winter’s evening? Click here for more info.
Alphen Boutique Hotel
If you’ve got a special occasion coming up or just want to get away for a night, this is a really great deal at the Alphen Boutique Hotel. I haven’t stayed here before but I have eaten at 5 Rooms Restaurant and La Belle Bistro and can recommend them both. I love their decor so have no doubt their rooms are beautiful as well. Have a look here at this special.
Blue Gum Country Estate Stanford
This looks like a great deal from Daddy’s Deals guys! I always have a look on Tripadvisor before posting about a place I haven’t been before, especially if it’s at a discounted rate and this one looks really good! Click here for more info.
Woodstock Autumn Beer Festival (1 May)
What can I say about this one other than it looks like fun! 🙂 Click here for more info.
Wade Bales Malt and Whiskey Fair 2016 @ African Pride 15 On Orange Hotel (6 May)
If you’re into your whiskey, then this looks like something different which could make for an interesting date night. It’s only on the 6th May so I would get booking if you want to go. Click here for more info.
Nicky Schrire and James Scholfield @ The Alexander Bar (15 May)
Quoted from Alexander Bar’s site: “Vocalist/Songwriter Nicky Schrire and Berlin-based jazz guitarist James Scholfield team up to present an intimate duo evening of jazz standards and folk songs at the Alexander Bar.” Sounds good right? Click here for more info.
Love Factually @ Theatre On The Bay (13 April-14 May)
The Theatre on The Bay is a lovely intimate theatre. If you want to avoid the Camps Bay strip as it can be quite expensive, you can’t go wrong at Hussar Grill. We have always had great food, great service and reasonable prices. Click here for more info.
Love at First Fight @ Kalk Bay Theatre (26 April-14 May)
This looks like fun and our tickets are already booked! Have a look at their Tuesday and Thursday specials when booking your tickets as it is quite a saving. Click here for more info.
Underwater Photographer of the Year 2016 (1 May- 30 September)
Happening at the Chavonnes Battery Museum at the Clock Tower in the Waterfront. As written on their site, “These spectacular images invite you to explore fascinating perspectives and interesting insights into our world underwater and on land from underwater.” Click here for more info.
I See You @ Fugard Theatre (6-28 May)
I love the Fugard Theatre! It is such a beautiful theatre with so much character and charm. Go for an early dinner to Dias Tavern (be sure to book) just across the road and this is a really great date night! In fact, it made our ‘Roundup of our 5 best date nights‘ list. Although ‘I See You’ doesn’t exactly look like light hearted theatre, it looks like it’ll definitely give you something to talk about on your car ride home. Click here for more info.
There you have it! No excuses now to do the ‘same old same old’. There are so many other things happening in May but I just couldn’t put them all here. Be sure to keep an eye on my Facebook page as I share ideas for date nights there as well. If you know of anything else happening that will be a cool date night or you’ve done something awesome together, please share in the comments below.
If you’re new here, welcome! 🙂 If you haven’t done so already, feel free to subscribe to my monthly newsletter (scroll down) for more Date Night ideas, and all things related.
Keep on loving each other! x
